This piece represents a scaling-up of the concepts explored in Dawn’s Delight. My goal was to balance high-energy focal points - specifically the gold-leafed mountain in the upper right - with a tranquil, “watery” foreground that grounds the viewer. The dripping technique used in the under-painting creates a sense of “mysterious depth,” suggesting a landscape with its own hidden history. It is a study in the harmony between a radiant sky and a peaceful earth.
